Position Overview

The Jewish Education Project Marketing & Communications team (M&C) seeks a freelance Marketing & Communications Coordinator (contract based) to help us build national visibility and drive fundraising for The Jewish Education Project. Reporting to the Managing Director of Marketing & Communications, and supporting two Marketing Managers, the freelance Marketing Coordinator will help the team bring the voice of the TJEP brand to life and promote our best-in-class programs on social media, via email, and other promotional platforms. The ideal candidate is social media savvy, has strong writing and graphic development skills, is highly organized, can juggle multiple projects, and brings a healthy sense of humor to their work!

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft unique, compelling, and relevant brand, fundraising, or programming content for social media
  • Create social media content around Jewish holidays, relevant pop culture occasions, and “breaking news” occasions.
  • Support promotion of our weekly podcast episode including asset collection, episode descriptions, social media posts, and tracking of performance metrics.
  • Help with copywriting and/or graphic design in our Pardot email platform to drive Program recruitment.
  • Liaise with vendors: swag, printers, videographers, and photographers to solicit samples and pricing, and coordinate production and/or delivery of materials.
  • Track and report monthly on social media performance stats.
  • Catalog and organize TJEP’s library of photos and videos.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience creating and coordinating digital marketing materials.
  • Solid knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Canva, and MS Office is a must. Familiarity with Pardot Lightning and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Creative thinker who can write, design, and execute sticky, standout social media content.
  • Strong social media video editing skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Confident, organized self-starter who takes initiative and has excellent follow-through.
  • Passion and desire to fuel a thriving Jewish community now and in the future.
  • Familiarity with the Jewish nonprofit landscape is a plus.

Job Specs

  • Minimum 10 hours/week @ $20/hour
  • Virtual Work (possible on-site opportunities T-Th)
