As Development Associate, Donor Engagement, you’ll play a pivotal role in fueling our fundraising efforts and strengthening our community campaigns. This is more than just a support role—it’s an opportunity to take ownership of helping cultivate relationships that drive lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:
- Driving Fundraising Success: Support Financial Resource Development (FRD) fundraising initiatives and community campaigns by delivering exceptional donor service and ensuring seamless execution of fundraising and engagement efforts aligned with revenue goals.
- Executing Donor Stewardship: Coordinate and deliver donor stewardship activities—including thank‑you and welcome outreach, weekly touchpoints, birthday outreach, affinity group recognition and reporting, and FRD calendar management—to strengthen relationships and increase giving.
- Donor Solicitation & Engagement: Personally solicit community donors ($1000 or less) throughout the year, building meaningful relationships that inspire sustained philanthropic support.
- Event Planning & Community Engagement: Plan and execute donor and community events end‑to‑end, managing logistics, vendors, venues, guest communications, registrations, and onsite execution in collaboration with lay leaders and internal teams.
- Data & Operations Leadership: Serve as a donor data and CRM expert by maintaining accurate records, tracking engagement, supporting direct marketing efforts, generating strategic reports, and managing operational tasks such as calendars, expenses, and event logistics.

- Strong systems and process‑builder who enjoys creating structures that supports fundraising and operational success.
- Skilled relationship‑builder with excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working independently and under pressure while consistently delivering high‑quality work.
- Experience with donor databases or CRM systems—or a strong willingness to learn—and an interest in using data to support effective fundraising strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and open to learning and adopting new technologies.
- Mission‑driven professional with a commitment to The Jewish Federation; knowledge of the Jewish community, its customs, and practices is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.

Candidates should be located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Washington (DC, MD, and Northern VA) region. This is a hybrid position, with 3 days a week required in our headquarters.
