Position Summary: The Payroll/Benefits Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits for the agency. This position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, maintains accurate records, reconciles benefit invoices, and provides responsive support to employees and supervisors regarding payroll and benefits. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and agency payroll/benefits information at all times. • Verify and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees in Paycom with accuracy and timeliness. • Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations; ensure compliance with eligibility rules and deadlines. • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors and brokers. • Prepare payroll and benefits reports for leadership and compliance purposes (e.g., ACA, 403b). • Provide responsive support to employees and supervisors regarding payroll and benefits questions. • Support annual open enrollment, including system setup, employee communications, and assistance. • Maintain accurate and complete personnel and payroll records, both electronic and hard copy. • Assist with audits, surveys, and data requests related to payroll and benefits. • Support CHRO with payroll/benefits-related projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Associate degree in accounting, business, or human resources preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred.
- Experience: With CPP/degree: minimum 2 years’ payroll/benefits administration experience. Without: 5 years progressive payroll/benefits experience. Paycom experience preferred.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and organized. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong customer service and communication skills.
