The Network’s mission is to empower and support individuals to explore their own Jewish journeys—inspiring them to form lasting connections to a diverse, inclusive and vibrant Baltimore Jewish community. The Network is dedicated to supporting underserved and marginalized identities within the Jewish community, helping these individuals and families access Jewish life and feel a sense of belonging. Peer Engagement Fellows will build relationships among community members with their shared identity and work alongside Baltimore Jewish institutions to create more a welcoming and inclusive environment. This is a part-time non-benefit eligible employment opportunity with an average of 10 hours of work per week. Please note this position is only eligible for MD Sick & Safe Leave. Please note this role is a hybrid opportunity with a mix of meetings out in the community, in the office, and working from home. In this role, you will: Build and sustain a relational network by engaging individuals and families who share an aspect of their identity in ongoing one‑to‑one conversations (e.g., coffee meetings, walks, playdates). Design, co‑create, and facilitate gatherings that respond to the needs and interests of your focus community. Maintain regular connection with Network staff and actively participate in strategy sessions, cohort meetings, and learning spaces. Participate fully in peer engagement trainings and shared professional development. Bring community insights and feedback into organizational conversations to strengthen inclusive practices and partner relationships. Collaborate with other peer engagers and Network staff through referrals, shared learning, and culturally responsive engagement strategies. Track outreach, relationships, and program participation using agency’s CRM. Manage a modest budget to support relational meetings and community gatherings. What we’re looking for: We’re looking for a community builder who brings both lived experience and a desire to strengthen Jewish belonging for others. Ideal candidates will demonstrate: Shared identity, lived experience, and deep connection to the focus population of the Fellowship. Strong relational skills and comfort engaging individuals and families across life stages. Experience convening, facilitating, or organizing small groups or gatherings (formal or informal). Ability to navigate both community‑facing work and collaboration with organizations. Comfort with ambiguity, patience with systems‑level change, and openness to learning. Alignment with relationship‑based engagement and inclusion of diverse Jewish identities, experiences, and backgrounds. Formal Jewish education or professional nonprofit experience is not required. For Compensation and Support, Fellows will receive: This position pays $25 per hour paid every two weeks in arrears. Weekly hours can vary 8-12 with an average of 10 hours per week and no more than 40 hours per month. Program and relational engagement budget. Training, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Ongoing support and supervision from Network staff and a cohort of fellow peer engagers. The Peer Engagement Fellowship is a new initiative of The Network and the structure will evolve with the program. If you think this role is right for you, we encourage you to apply.
