CHAI is seeking a dynamic, community-driven professional to join our team as the Director of Community Development. This role is all about people, partnerships, and impact. If you’re passionate about neighborhood revitalization, coalition building, and creating meaningful connections between residents, schools, and local organizations, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:
• Build strong relationships with residents, neighborhood associations, and community stakeholders in northwest Baltimore.
• Oversee community events, beautification projects, and revitalization initiatives.
• Strengthen CHAI’s partnerships with local schools by helping them access resources, supporting PTOs, and connecting families to their communities.
• Lead and participate in neighborhood coalitions, community committees, and cross-agency collaborations.
• Manage grants, track program data, and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
• Supervise and support a small, passionate team committed to community engagement.

What We’re Looking For:
• At least 3 years of experience in community engagement or organizing (especially in diverse neighborhoods).
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience working with public schools and local stakeholders.
• A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (master’s preferred).
• Strong communication and leadership skills, and a real passion for community building.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Familiarity with CHAI's service area in NW Baltimore a plus!
