Adamah Director of Climate Partnerships & Advocacy

The Director will spearhead a portfolio of projects, including a North American landscape study of faith-based climate initiatives, convenings, and new multifaith and multicultural pilot programs. The Director will serve as a key thought leader, convener, and strategist at the intersection of faith, culture and environmental leadership. This leader will also manage Adamah’s advocacy efforts through these partnerships, serve as the primary staff liaison to Adamah’s Advocacy Council, and lead the Advocacy Task Force and implementation of recommendations from this Task Force.
Job Summary:
Multifaith Partnerships & Program Development (30%)

Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with faith-based and other cultural institutions, leaders, and networks across religious and cultural traditions.

Design, launch, and manage multifaith and multicultural projects focused on climate action, education, and advocacy.

Convene gatherings, roundtables, and joint campaigns to elevate and share best practices on climate.

Represent Adamah and the Jewish community in national interfaith environmental coalitions and forums.
Research & Thought Leadership (20%)

Lead the production of a report on faith-based climate and environmental initiatives in North America, mapping efforts across denominations and highlighting models for collaboration.

Collaborate with academic partners, think tanks, and national networks to ensure broad dissemination and impact.
Strategy & Movement Building (20%)

Work with national Jewish and multifaith partners to build a shared agenda and actionable roadmap for interfaith climate engagement.

Contribute to organizational strategy around climate justice and multifaith and multicultural engagement.

Amplify the voice of Adamah in climate justice conversations through public speaking, publishing, and advocacy efforts.
Advocacy (20%)

Work with Advocacy Advisory Council, hub directors, youth engagement staff, and senior Adamah lay and professional leadership in order to craft and execute an annual advocacy plan.

Develop strategic partnerships at the local and national level to maximize our advocacy impact.

Build meaningful relationships with multifaith and multicultural advocacy partners.
Reporting, Grant Management, and Fundraising (10%)

Track deliverables and outcomes for all grant-funded initiatives.

Prepare quarterly reports (April 15, July 15, October 15, and January 15 annually) detailing program activities, data, and financials.

Collaborate with the development and finance teams to manage grant budgets and support future funding opportunities.

Participate in Adamah fundraising efforts throughout the year, both for this specific work and for Adamah as a whole.
Skills and Experience:

7+ years of experience in multifaith and/or multicultural work, climate organizing, or nonprofit program leadership.

Deep understanding of religious traditions and faith-based community structures.

Proven track record in relationship cultivation, coalition building, or movement organizing.

Excellent communication and facilitation skills across diverse religious and cultural contexts.

Experience with project design, research, and evaluation in a nonprofit or academic setting.

Familiarity with climate science, environmental justice, and sustainability frameworks.

Comfort working in Jewish institutions and across other religious and cultural traditions.

High level of emotional intelligence, professionalism, and discretion.

Willingness to travel for convenings, events, or site visits.
General:

Attend weekly department meetings.

Attend monthly all-staff meetings.

Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as provide excellent customer service.

Working Conditions:
This is an exempt position that can be remote; candidates must be based in the U.S. Some evening or weekend work may be required to align with partner schedules. Travel is required approximately 4–6 times per year.
