Reports To: Karen Rogow, Chief Advancement OfficerStatus: Full Time, Year-Round - ExemptThe Community Engagement & Alumni Relations Associate plays a vital role in strengthening relationships within the school community — connecting families, alumni, donors, and partners through meaningful programs, events, and communications. This position focuses on building engagement opportunities that deepen school pride, support philanthropic goals, and foster lifelong connections to the school.Working closely with the Manager of Advancement & Community Engagement, the Chief Advancement Officer, and supporting the Marketing team as needed, this individual helps advance the school’s mission by coordinating alumni initiatives, cultivating community partnerships, and managing and supporting events and sponsorship efforts that support Advancement priorities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAlumni Relations- Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy to increase participation, giving, and school involvement.- Plan alumni events (student and parent/grandparent) and reunions in collaboration with alumni volunteers and Advancement leadership.- Maintain the alumni database and support ongoing data updates, tracking, and communications.- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to cultivate, coordinate and help execute alumni communications—including student, parent, and grandparent outreach, alumni newsletters, the Alumni Journey magazine, and social media content.Sponsorships & Partnerships- Coordinate corporate sponsorship opportunities that align with the school’s mission and Advancement initiatives.- Manage outreach to sponsors, ensure fulfillment of recognition benefits, and track outcomes.Community Engagement & Events- Plan, support, and execute Advancement-led community events that foster connection, stewardship, and school spirit (e.g., donor recognition events, family socials, volunteer appreciation).- Support schoolwide and divisional events with Advancement participation (e.g., Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Annual Golf Tournament, donor recognition events, and school wide celebrations).- Partner with internal departments and volunteer committees to ensure a cohesive community experience.- Manage event logistics, communications, and volunteer coordination.Volunteer Engagement- Support parent and alumni volunteer groups in collaboration with the Manager.- Build relationships with key community stakeholders, fostering an inclusive and connected school community.Advancement Support- Collaborate with advancement team members to support all aspects of the Georgia State Education Tax Credit – GOAL Scholarship program outreach. Support to include volunteer engagement, program communications, and recognition.- Support the Manager, Advancement and Community Engagement on stewardship, communications, and reporting to include annual Davis Day of Giving, Annual Impact Report, donor brochures, and promotional content that communicates the school’s mission and impact.- Collaborate on annual fund and special campaign initiatives as needed.- Contribute to a positive, mission-driven Advancement culture centered on teamwork, gratitude, and excellence.QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree required; background in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.- 3-5 years of experience in development, alumni relations, events, or community engagement (independent school or higher education experience a plus).- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Strong project management and event-planning abilities; detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.- Proven relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.- Comfort with CRM/database systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; experience with Raiser’s Edge, Veracross or similar database preferred.- Occasional evening or weekend work required for events.
