Temple Sinai, organized in 1951, has over 1,200 member families and is one of the largest Reform Jewish congregations in the Washington, DC area. The Temple Sinai community offers a great breadth of opportunities for participating in worship, programs, and services for all ages, as well as a remarkable Religious School program and NAEYC-accredited Nursery School. The temple’s mission statement and core values incorporate the primary reasons members belong to Temple Sinai – ritual observance, Jewish education, tikkun olam (repairing the world), belonging to a Jewish community and concern for Israel as a Jewish homeland. Temple Sinai has a distinguished tradition in each of these areas, with our particular focus through the lens of Reform Judaism. Temple Sinai is committed to undertaking transformational internal steps to affirm and enhance our identity as a multiracial Reform Jewish community.
