Development Assistant

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting meaningful work? We’re looking for a part-time Development Assistant (approximately 25 hours per week) to play a key role in our fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), you’ll help keep donor data accurate and up to date, assist with gift processing and acknowledgments, support fundraising campaigns and events, and help coordinate donor communications and mailings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Database Specialist to generate dashboards, mailing lists, and monthly fundraising reports.
- Work closely with the Finance Department to review and reconcile monthly reports, resolve discrepancies, and ensure financial accuracy.
- Enter all donations, pledges, and payments (Annual Campaign and Capital Campaign) into Bloomerang with a high level of accuracy.
- Manage and reconcile incoming gifts from third-party platforms such as Benevity, Stripe, AudienceView, Elevent, and GiveButter.
- Oversee timely processing of weekly gift acknowledgments and quarterly pledge reminders.
- Support the CDO in maintaining and updating development policies, processes, and procedures in the organization’s Document Library.
- Maintain donor information and coordinate registration for fundraising events, including Table Captain management for the annual luncheon.
- Organize Development Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda creation, minute-taking, and distributing meeting materials.
- Serve as project manager for all development mailings, including direct mail appeals, holiday cards, event invitations, and year-end tax letters.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for other Development and Marketing efforts as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in data entry and database integrity.
- 1–3 years of experience working with CRM database systems (Bloomerang preferred).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technology.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite, with experience using web-based applications such as Mailchimp and Planner.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork.
- On-site position at the SJCC (not hybrid or remote).
