Camp Nurse

Do you need a break from your job at the hospital or ambulance, or are you a school nurse on summer vacation? Spend time at J Camp! We are looking for camp nurses to work for a week or more this summer. Position pays $35 to $40 per hour depending on experience. Nurses receive free camp tuition for their children*.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health and physical wellbeing of campers and staff.
- Provide health care to meet individual needs of campers and staff.
- Collect accident/illness reports throughout the camp day. Track trends and make recommendations based on reports.
- Document the care given to each camper and contact the family of the camper at the discretion of the Camp Director.
- Ensure the safe storage and usage of all medication, including delivery and tracking.
- Review basic first aid with staff.
- Review health forms and share information with relevant parties, including dietary restrictions. Contact families in advance of their attendance regarding missing forms.
- Be on call for off-site locations, including but not limited to Herzl Ner Tamid, Seattle Jewish Community School and the Mercer Island Community and Events Center.
- Act as a positive ambassador of the SJCC both inside and outside of the SJCC.
- Follow all medical and emergency procedures at the SJCC. Make recommendations to the Camp Director for policy updates if applicable.
- Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse’s License (RN), EMT Certification or other similar certification for Washington State required
- 3+ years of work in a medical field preferred
- Experience with children preferred
