JOB OBJECTIVE:
Under the direction of the Director of Social Services, the Case Assistant will provide wraparound social work services and case management to individuals in need of benefits and entitlements in the community.

Under the direction of the Director of Social Services, the Case Assistant will provide wraparound social work services and case management to individuals in need of benefits and entitlements in the community.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive assessment for all individuals who contact the social services department, including those in need of food pantry and workforce services
- Assist individuals with applying for all qualifying benefits
- Assist pantry clients and screen for further needs
- Provide guidance and education to individuals about available services
- Work closely with JCC off site programs to provide information on available services and benefits
- Make internal referrals to other JCC programs including GED, ESL, Career Connections, CHIPS
- Ensure compliance with funders’ protocols
- Maintain records of all efforts, including, outreach, contacts, outcomes
- All other projects assigned by supervisor
- At least 2 years’ experience working in the social services field
- Must have excellent communication skills; verbal, written and computer
- Must be trained on interviewing skills, client assessment, determining eligibility, community resources, and information/referral process
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the community
- Bilingual Russian, and/or Spanish a plus
- 4 hour shift - Monday to Friday
- $20.00 per hour
