Seasonal Laundry Attendant (PT)

This is a seasonal position from May 21, 2026 - August 30, 2026, paying $15,00 per hour.

The scheduled hours for this position are:

• Thursday 4:00pm - 9:30pm
• Friday 4:00 - 8:30pm
• Saturday 10am - 6:30pm
• Sunday 10am - 6:30pm

Summary:

The Seasonal Laundry Attendant maintains a clean and healthy environment within the JCC. Duties include laundry, controlling stock and inventory, seeing to general cleanliness, making coffee, and more while maintaining customer service and hospitality to our members.

Essential Functions:

• Provide outstanding customer service to our customers in all interactions.
• Sort, fold, and wash laundry.
• Collect and deliver laundry from/to various points within our facility.
• Safely operate necessary equipment to perform job tasks (clothes washer, clothes dryer, elevator, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout work area.
• Transport items throughout the J as needed. (i.e., meals, packages, mail, etc.)
• Assist other Building and Grounds team members in maintaining a clean and organized facility.
• Help with general cleanliness tasks as necessary, such as restocking paper towels, wiping down the counters, picking up used towels, cleaning unexpected spills, etc.
• Perform inventory as necessary.
• Follow and abide by all JCC rules and policies.
• Attend JCC and departmental meetings as required.
• Regular attendance is essential for successful performance in this role.
• Other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Grade School graduation
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions.
• Prior related experience preferred.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• General knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals and their safety is a plus.
• Must be attentive to details with outstanding internal and external customer service skills.
• Flexible schedule to allow for weekend and evening work is required.
• Able to volunteer to work set up and tear down for events. May require adjusting hours or time outside of normal business hours.

Physical Demands:

• Must pass pre-employment physical.
• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Must be able to spend majority of shift walking, twisting, bending, pushing, stooping, and pulling.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects not to exceed 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by building environmental systems; however, laundry staff must be able to work in extreme temperatures found in laundry rooms (+80F), possibly for one hour or more.
