We are excited to add Early Childhood Substitute Teachers to our team! Are you interested in working with toddlers and preschool age children as a Substitute Teacher? Do you have experience working in childcare? Are you looking for a change? Are you looking to start a career in Early Childhood education and want to get your feet wet? We would love to have you join us!

This is a per-diem position where we contact you as-needed to provide coverage when teachers are absent. We anticipate there will be many days we will need substitute teachers. We are open to candidates with varying availability!

Our Early Childhood Substitute role is a wonderful opportunity to get your foot in the door at Gan Shelanu. Many of our substitutes ultimately transition into part or full-time Teachers when new openings become available.

Job Description:

  • Assist in the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children.
  • Assist in developing activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children.
  • Assist in developing culturally appropriate programs and activities.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with children, parents and staff.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must be warm, nurturing and passionate about working with young children.
  • A Massachusetts EEC teacher certification and a Bachelor’s degree, preferred, but not required.
  • One year of experience is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift 50 pounds, and sit on the floor.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, as the school is not accessible by public transportation.
