What You’ll Do
In this role, you will oversee all facets of the dining area, including the waitress station. This includes managing daily operations, coordinating staff, and maintaining the overall appearance of the area. Their primary focus is to ensure the delivery of exceptional guest experience and ensure efficient operations, while also managing staff and upholding quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Select, train, manage, evaluate, and provide coaching to all dining room staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders.
- Schedule and allocate tasks to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and around staff breaks.
- Perform regular inspections of staff members' physical appearance to ensure they are well-groomed and adhering to the dress code policy.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve staff performance.
- Conduct corrective action, when needed, for employees in their organization, all in accordance with Sinai procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Residents Experience:
- Ensure high levels of resident satisfaction by monitoring service quality and addressing any issues promptly.
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback and make necessary improvements.
- Resolve resident complaints and maintain a positive dining atmosphere.
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily dining room operations, including seating arrangements, last-minute reservations, and overall cleanliness.
- Monitor inventory levels for dining room supplies and place orders as needed.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and quality standards.
- Oversees the presentation of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, and related elements.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue, such as upselling.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Ensures that dining room service complies with all relevant local, federal, and state regulations concerning service, sanitation, and personnel.
- Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness.
Training:
- Provide adequate job training to all new employees to ensure their proper integration into the team and their development within the organization.
- Train staff on safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Ensure staff maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
- Assigns specific tasks and conducts spot-checks to ensure that standards are consistently met.
- Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, reports, files, schedules, and studies. Ensure the posted work schedule meets all staffing/labor/budget guidelines.
- Ensures that all policies and procedures related to safety and health are followed, including but not limited to MSDS information, safe work practices, infection control, and universal precautions.
- Foster teamwork within the department and across other departments to promote seamless operations and deliver quality service.
What You'll Need:
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in “front of the house operations” within the restaurant, hotel, club, or similar institution.
- Proficient computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, Full Count, etc.)
- Prefer post-secondary education in hospitality management or dining room operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and social skills.
Physical Requirements:
Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday; ability to stoop, bend, and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
