What You’ll Do
As the Refurbishment Manager, you’ll lead and oversee renovation projects from start to finish—managing timelines, budgets, contractors, and quality standards. You’ll ensure every detail meets expectations while maintaining safety and compliance throughout the process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage all aspects of apartment refurbishments across the community, including full renovations and scheduled 7-year updates.
- Oversee the apartment renovation process by coordinating and monitoring the work of contractors, subcontractors, and staff to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of capital improvement projects.
- Direct daily vendor services and provide regular status updates to internal stakeholders and Sinai leadership.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Team to ensure apartments are delivered on schedule and meet agreed-upon standards.
- Implement production and quality control standards as directed, and submit progress reports as needed.
- Track and report progress against budgets, schedules, and key performance milestones.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Sales Refurbishment Meetings and present updates during weekly project meetings.
- Manage inventory and supply ordering to ensure all necessary materials are consistently in stock for apartment refurbishments.
- Conduct weekly site walks to monitor safety, cleanliness, quality of work, and proper installation of materials.
- Manage change orders during the renovation process and communicate any updates or concerns to relevant teams.
- Serve as a technical liaison for the Sales Team, addressing refurb-related questions or concerns.
- Support the VP and Director of Plant Operations by providing lateral services and painting resources as needed.
- Collaborate with the in-house maintenance team to prepare schedules for repairs, replacements, and capital improvement projects.
- Provide clear schedules and requirements to the maintenance team and oversee execution.
- Maintain and manage all physical and disposable resources, reporting any functional issues to the VP of Plant Operations.
- Provide weekly project updates to the VP of Plant Operations.
Vendor Management:
- In partnership with the Sales Team and with approval from the VP of Plant Operations, select, negotiate, and manage external vendors and consultants to support refurbishment efforts.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in refurbishment or a related field required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training or background is a plus
- Proven ability to manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Moderate to heavy physical effort; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); work in areas with high voltage electricity, hazardous equipment and moving parts; work on rooftops and other high places; ability to set up and climb ladders safely with tools and equipment necessary for assigned work; must be able to lift 80 pounds; must be able to walk, stand and stoop for an extended period of time (over 80% of the time); exposure to a variety of chemicals and dust daily; may be exposed to the HBV and HIV viruses.
