Position Summary: Cleans and maintains the center. Monitors repair needs in the senior center.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Cleans office, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, closets and classrooms by sweeping, mopping and dusting daily.
- Maintains a clean environment throughout the center.
- Polishes and scrapes floors as needed.
- Sanitizes kitchen counters, refrigerators and stove.
- Sets up classrooms with the needed equipment as required for various activities.
- Cuts and ties up boxes for recycling.
- Removes garbage and recycling items daily.
- Sanitizes restrooms daily.
- Mops and dries water on the floor during rain, snow, spills, etc….
- Completes daily kitchen checklist in conjunction with the kitchen staff.
- Adheres to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards.
Salary Range: $20 - $21 commensurate with experience
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Needs to perform the physical activities associated with cleaning and maintenance
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail
Working Conditions/Physical Demand:
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles, and the occasional risk of electrical shock.
- Must be able to attend meetings and other out-of-office errands or functions by using public or private transportation.
