Position Summary: Assist Holocaust Survivors with financial management services from a person-centered trauma-informed perspective

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Make home visits to elderly Holocaust survivor clients for the purpose of assisting them with financial management tasks, including sorting of documents and mail, writing checks, monitoring financial transactions and reconciling bank/investment records monthly
  • Make sure the client signs and approves the DMM contract.
  • Submit visit logs that show what checks were written, what calls were made on behalf of the client.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with client, family members and Guardianship team as appropriate
  • Assist clients to gather paperwork and documentation for benefits and entitlements;
  • Assist with tasks related to Guardianship clients’ relocation;
  • Assist in obtaining and filing Court and Guardianship documents.
  • Assist with office tasks such as filing, writing letters, etc.
  • Maintain complete and accurate case notes utilizing the program’s data system; prepare required documentation in case file within organizational time frames
  • Maintain and report on statistics according to Selfhelp standards, utilizing the program’s data system and other forms of record keeping as needed.
  • Actively participate in supervision, staff meetings and Guardianship team meetings; share any emergent issues with supervisor in a timely manner
  • Adhere to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards

Salary Range: $23 - $25 per hour commensurate with experience.

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • Experience with bookkeeping preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other technology
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on treating clients with respect and dignity
  • Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail

Working Conditions/Physical Demand

  • Business office environment with phone and computer use, travel via public transportation.
