We are Secure Community Network (SCN), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) serving as the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. Here at SCN, we deeply value the team of people that work diligently to commit their lives to action for a better tomorrow and we are excited to add an Administrative Assistant, Development and External Affairs to our organization.

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Chief of External Affairs and Engagement and Chief Development Officer and assisting in implementing programs, projects, and initiatives related to special events, grants, public policy, government relations, partnerships, marketing and communications, and fundraising and advancement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Work effectively with executive team members and others cross-organizationally to coordinate and meet established needs.
  • Coordinate and schedule travel, meetings, webinars, events, and appointments, ensuring appropriate logistical planning, preparation, and visibility among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Source data, prepare and distribute reports, and produce professional briefings and collateral materials in support of fundraising, special events, external engagements, and communications products.
  • Maintain and update various files, records, and CRM databases to ensure accurate information.
  • Prepare agendas, schedules, and materials for departmental and external meetings.
  • Manage internal and external communications on behalf of the executives, as directed.
  • Manage executive calendars, balancing competing priorities and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Submit and reconcile executive expense reports.
  • Support the Financial Resource Development team to maintain accurate donor and gift records including gift entry, donor acknowledgements, and database management.
  • Attend key meetings, take detailed minutes, and distribute timely follow up communications.
  • Work independently on special projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience with CRM database software (ie. Salesforce) and a willingness to learn new systems and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments as needed, independently or collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to make independent and accurate decisions with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced organization.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential efforts and documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong working knowledge of document editing, file sharing, and video conferencing software required.

The target annual salary for this position is $60,000. Final annual salary offered will be determined through a thorough assessment of multiple factors and criteria which may include candidate experience and qualifications, available market data, internal salary equity, and budget considerations.
