The Associate Director reports to the Director, Grant Management and will be responsible for supporting SCN's grants department, including providing grant support services to Jewish nonprofit organizations nationally for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) and other relevant security-related funding opportunities. The Associate Director will assist in managing program activities, maintaining communication with communities, lay leaders and strategic partners, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
This role is ideal for a forward-thinking, solutions-driven individual who can balance immediate needs and deadline-driven projects with the long-term goal of creating scalable, mission-driven growth in the grants department.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Support the management of grant program activities to ensure programmatic goals are met.
- Provide grant support services to Jewish nonprofit organizations related to the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) and other relevant security-related funding opportunities.
- Assist with the research, identification, and development of grant resource materials to support the community.
- Manage the digital processes for grant-related projects, including sending out e-blasts and follow up materials.
- Support the planning, coordination, and facilitation of virtual workshops and webinars.
- Contribute to the development and distribution of program resources, newsletters, and updates.
- Interact with relevant stakeholders, partners, and community members in a professional manner including sharing reports, data, and programmatic updates.
- Review grant applications and provide guidance to non-profit applicants.
- Deliver presentations on grant-related topics in public forums.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and summaries on program status, participant progress, and outcomes.
- Work on special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year of experience working with nonprofit grants, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of FEMA's Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) and familiarity with state homeland security grant programs.
- Exposure with DHS/FEMA's grant suite preferred.
- Proficient with Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments as needed, independently or as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced organization.
- Organized, with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Adept at being flexible and problem solving.
- Creative-thinker, highly motivated and resourceful team-player.
- Skilled at establishing and cultivating effective working relationships with peers, organizational leadership and colleagues across the organization.

The target annual salary range for this position is $100,000-$125,000. Final annual salary offered will be determined through a thorough assessment of multiple factors and criteria which may include candidate experience and qualifications, available market data, internal salary equity, and budget considerations.
