Line Cook – Full-Time (Every Other Weekend Required)

Lions Gate CCRC Senior Living is seeking a dependable and experienced Line Cook to join our Dietary Services team. We are looking for a motivated individual who takes pride in preparing quality meals, maintaining high standards of food safety, and providing excellent dining experiences for our residents.

In this role, you will prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and work collaboratively with dietary and dining services staff in a fast-paced, restaurant-style environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow the dietary laws and practices required to maintain a kosher kitchen.

This is a full-time position with an every-other-weekend schedule requirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals and food items according to established recipes, preparation guidelines, and portion sizes.
• Complete daily food preparation tasks while maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
• Set up and stock the cookline with the necessary food products, supplies, and utensils prior to meal service.
• Follow production screens and instructions provided through the POS system to ensure accurate and timely meal preparation.
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices throughout all kitchen operations.
• Follow the department’s clean-as-you-go policy to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties in accordance with departmental procedures and established standards.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and other dietary team members to support efficient meal service.
• Assist other cooks and dietary staff as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Strictly follow all applicable kosher dietary laws and kitchen procedures to maintain the integrity of the kosher environment at our Jewish senior living community.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of cooking or food preparation experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, or similar food service environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to follow recipes, maintain portion control, and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule, including every other weekend.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
