Chef for Senior Congregate Meal Program

Job Summary:
We are committed to excellence and providing a welcoming atmosphere and excellent food menus for our on-site Senior Congregate Meal Program in partnership with Camden County Division of Senior Services. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Chef to provide food for the senior lunch program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include:
1. Menu Planning and Execution:
- Create nutritious and appetizing menus for the Senior Congregate Meal Program according to Camden County regulations and guidance.
- Use the JCCs ordering platform, and preferred vendors to order ingredients
2. Budget Management:
- Create and work within budget parameters to order ingredients and supplies efficiently.
- Monitor expenses related to food costs, staffing, and equipment maintenance.
3. Staff Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and manage sous chef and kitchen volunteers to ensure performance and teamwork.
- Develop schedules, oversee work assignments
- Work in coordination with Vaad for Kashrut standards
4. Operational Excellence:
- Ensure kitchen operations meet and exceed health department standards and regulations.
- Establish and maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen.
8. Regulatory Compliance:
- Collaborate with health department officials to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and pass inspections.
- Maintain Kashrut standards
Required Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:
Current Serve Safe Certification
Required Education & Experience:
- Large scale food service operation
- Bookkeeping and inventory mgmt. experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
- Supervisory Experience
- Nutrition education
- Kosher food guideline experience
Additional Technical Requirements:
- Advanced Level PC skills: Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.
- Public health policies and standards related to food service.
- Knowledge of systems and functionality.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent project management, customer meal experience and service, organization, and time management skills.
