Job Summary:
The Building Jewish Families Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing relationships, establishing program structure, and meeting with clients to ensure financial, social, emotional, and educational support for individuals and couples experiencing infertility. The Program Coordinator will take the lead in building this new program under the auspices of JFCS, establishing partnerships with other departments and local community organizations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with local and national community partners, including, but not limited to: medical practices, fertility clinics, pharmacies, organizations about infertility/adoption/women’s health, and synagogues
- Design grant application process for fertility/adoption grant allocations
- Build a grants review committee including medical professionals, legal, and other stakeholders
- Support individuals and couples seeking grants through the application process, maintain accurate records of grant applicants and recipients
- Communicate with prospective and current grant applicants, addressing questions, and keeping applicants informed of application status and outcomes
- Manage emotional support offerings (counseling and support groups) in partnership with the Counseling department
- Provide individual counseling sessions and manage client records, according to licensure and agency standards
- Work with the Marketing team to create and share invitations to support groups, provide social media content, and more
- Facilitate community-based support groups, local meet-ups, and the Fertility Buddies program (a peer-to-peer mentorship program)
- Maintain accurate records of attendees at support groups and events
- Plan and execute educational programs for stakeholders, including, but not limited to: clinicians, fertility clinics, Jewish communal professionals, and clergy
- Research educational materials and adapt for the South Jersey Jewish community
Work in partnership with the Development team to identify and cultivate sponsors and donors through new relationships
Qualifications
LSW/LCSW, LAC/LPC, or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills: able to clearly and appropriately communicate in a variety of settings and styles
- Experience with grant management preferred
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to handle highly stressful and sensitive situations in a professional, kind, and confidential manner
- Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in all interaction
- Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal team and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
- Able to manage competing priorities and follow through with multiple deliverables
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail
- Able to present in front of large groups of participants
Knowledge of the Jewish community and its values preferred
