Family Assistance Program Case Manager

This is a part-time position (21 hours per week, in person)

This position is responsible for fielding telephone and in person service inquiries for the Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program (FAP), entering client information into the database, and providing case management to FAP clients.

Family Assistance Program Duties:

  • Serve as point of contact for new and existing FAP clientele
  • Provide identified individuals and families in FAP with phone and in-person assistance regarding available resources to meet basic human need
  • Provide direct referrals for services within JFCS (e.g., community job board, counseling & support groups, disability services, veterans’ programs)
  • When appropriate, offer referrals to community resources and programs outside JFCS
  • Process food pantry requests
  • Greet clients and ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed
  • Participate in Food Pantry Community Programs as needed (some evenings / weekends required)
  • Conduct donor tours as needed, including educating families and visitors about the Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry
  • Provide intake coverage for the entire agency, as needed
  • Coordinate food pantry volunteers, as needed
  • Attend outreach events, as needed
  • Update FAP resource guide, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Well organized with proven track record in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task
  • Team Player
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse groups
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture a plus
  • Ability to lift

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Background in social work a plus
