Overview
We are actively seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist for the Toby and Leon Cooperman Therapy and Family Resource Center at the Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services. the Occupational Therapist will perform various duties including, but not limited to, providing quality/ethical clinical services, maintaining a positive attitude towards others, developing/maintaining relationships with clients, families and other professionals, and providing direct occupational therapy services to children at the Center (individual and group), as well as at some school locations. The Therapist will work with children (0-22 yrs.) with a variety of special needs diagnoses/disorders, utilizing innovative therapy approaches including co-treatments and collaborating with other professionals (such as SLP’s, PT’s, BCBA’s, and clinical when applicable) to help children meet their full potential.

Therapist will be engaged in a multidisciplinary team approach across disciplines, and will be responsible for maintaining the required paperwork in spreadsheets and in our documentation systems. OT’s may be asked to supervise students or COTA, which will be taken into account on their billing hours.

Therapist will be willing to take on new clients and maintain 28-30 hours of billing per week, and maintain email communication with families on a regular basis. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

This position is currently designated as a hybrid. Full time Employees are required to be physically present in the office for a minimum of three days per week and may work remotely for two days from an authorized remote work location, in accordance with JFS hybrid work policy. JFS reserves the right to cancel, rescind or suspend employee hybrid work privileges at any time, for any reason or for no reason.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in related discipline. (Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree if a COTA)
  • Certification and state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in good standing
  • Experience performing evaluations and ongoing assessments.
  • Skilled in writing reports, treatment plans, and establishing goals.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with children across a spectrum of disabilities and special needs.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of others and the team and work as part of a multidisciplinary clinic.
  • Ability to communicate with others with respect, encouragement, open-mindedness, and provide supportive feedback.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain clear communication with Supervisor, including cc’ing on emails to parents/teachers/etc.
  • Initiative and problem solving skills
  • Organization, documentation, and time management skills
  • Commitment and passion to our values and mission
  • Participation in collaborative meetings and treatment planning
  • Effective emotional and verbal skills with clients and families.
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexibility in schedule to meet the needs of the department.
  • Ability to multitask, technological knowledge for documentation system.
