Job Description

The Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services is seeking a Full Time Billing Specialist who will be responsible for efficient billing and record keeping practices. The candidate will provide support to the Billing Operations Manager.

Required Skills and Education

• Minimum High School Diploma
• College Degree Preferred
• Related Certification
• 1 year experience working in a health care office Preferred
• Strong working knowledge of billing guidelines, insurance rules by carrier, and comfort in utilizing an electronic health record.
• Able to utilize Microsoft Office products with a strong skillset in Excel and Teams.
• Communicate with insurance companies to include claim processing issues.
• Assist clients with initial paperwork.
• Complete verification of benefits and monthly eligibility checks
• Accurately update and maintain clients' records
• Communicate with clients about fees, payment plans, financial assistance, and insurance questions
• Pre-authorization of insurance (copay, co-insurance, and deductible)
• Obtaining EOBS from insurance companies
• Work in collaboration with Billing Operations Manager and Director of Health Services on reconciling accounts receivable and revenue cycle management
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment-related problems
• Speak to clients about balances on accounts and collecting balances

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
