Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a TK–8 community school. We seek a physical education teacher (75–100% FTE) with knowledge of progressive educational environments who will help every student thrive.Responsibilities: Provide instruction based on student needs and age-appropriate movement/learning; implement adopted programs; design engaging curriculum aligned to guiding principles; build positive relationships; differentiate for diverse learners; assess frequently and effectively; create lesson/unit plans with school leadership; document student learning and progress; use multi-modal instruction and technology; support respectful school environment and policies; provide individualized work per student plans; collaborate across grades/subjects; recognize parents as partners; attend staff meetings/other duties; exchange professional feedback.Ideal Candidate: 2+ years PE teaching; Bachelor’s (advanced degree preferred); CA Teaching Credential preferred; familiarity with progressive approaches (Project Based Learning, student-centered, flipped classroom, etc.); lesson planning/curriculum design; Google Classroom/G Suite/LMS a plus; Hebrew proficiency; love of learning; differentiation; collaborative; First Aid/CPR a plus; independent school experience a plus.Compensation and Benefits: Salary range depending on FTE percentage $78,000–$89,000; additional benefit stipend; comprehensive medical/dental/vision, life and AD&D, 403(b), employee assistance program; significant tuition remission for employee children.
