Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a warm, welcoming, and vibrant TK–8th grade community school. Wornick is seeking an outstanding TK–8 music teacher beginning the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who teaches music through song, instruments, composition, theory, and technology, and brings music to life across our school community.Teaching & Curriculum: Create, develop, and implement a TK–8 music curriculum aligned with California standards and Wornick’s mission; provide foundational TK–5 music education; develop Middle School electives (including liturgical music, multicultural genres, songwriting/digital platforms); design engaging, project-based lessons; differentiate instruction; use multi-modal methods and technology; assess and document student learning; provide individualized support.Performance & School Life: Lead/support music for weekly prayer gatherings and school-wide events; create multiple performance opportunities; provide music/sound tech support and train student tech coordinators; advise Student Music Club; maintain instrument inventory.Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with other departments; coordinate with Jewish Studies/Hebrew leaders on celebrations; build positive relationships and communicate with families; attend meetings and fulfill duties.Ideal Candidate: 5+ years classroom music teaching; BA in education or music (advanced degree preferred); CA Teaching Credential preferred; skilled in vocal/instrumental music, composition, theory, and technology; familiarity with progressive education; lesson planning/curriculum design; differentiation; love of learning; collaborative; familiarity with live sound tech and Jewish liturgical/Hebrew/Israeli music a plus; digital music platforms and Google Classroom/LMS a plus; First Aid/CPR a plus; independent school experience a plus.Compensation and Benefits: Salary range for elementary school teachers $77,500–$95,500; additional benefit stipend; comprehensive medical/dental/vision, life and AD&D, 403(b), EAP; significant tuition remission for employee children.
