We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Specialist to support students in both elementary and middle school. This role focuses on working with students who have diverse learning needs, collaborating with teachers and families, and helping ensure that every child can thrive academically and confidently. Essential Responsibilities:- Work with the lead teachers to assess the strengths and needs of students- Coordinate with the Director of Learning Support to support student needs, plan learning, and collaborate on approach- Follow learning plans and collaborate with the grade level teachers on individualized goals for specific students- Facilitate teacher communication/understanding about individual students from grade to grade in collaboration with our Director of Learning Support- Conduct classroom observations of students to better understand individual student’s learning strengths and needs- Extend learning for high achieving students and guide struggling learners to reach their potential- Work one on one and with groups of students to achieve learning plan goals- Help students build executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and study strategies- Part-time/ possibility to become full time Preferred Qualifications:- A bachelor's degree is required, master's degree in special education is preferred- At least three years of classroom experience required- At least two years of experience working as a learning specialist or student support professional- Knowledge of Wilson Fundations, Orton Gillingham, and/or Lindamood Bell methodologies desired- Familiarity with the SST process- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families.- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.- Embodies a growth mindset and able to build positive relationship with students, families and colleagues- Able to read, interpret and explain policies, programs and reports Compensation and Perks:- Salary competitive and based on experience and qualifications, with a range of $35,000-50,000 per year for this part-time position- Enthusiastic mission-driven colleagues- A strong sense of community, with people who truly care about the social, emotional and academic growth of the students- Supportive, involved families and strong parent association
