Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a pluralistic community day school for students from TK through 8th grade. We are a warm and welcoming community with a collaborative team focused on bettering our school, supporting our students and welcoming our families. Wornick Day School is seeking an upper elementary school teacher (3rd–5th) for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will serve as a teacher in our elementary school and will be responsible for teaching ELA, Social Studies, Math, and Science. We are seeking an experienced teacher who has knowledge of progressive educational environments. The elementary school teacher will: Provide an instructional program based on the needs of each student; Implement our school adopted programs as the base curriculum for the grade; Design engaging curriculum that supports the base curriculum and meets the school’s guiding principles, including but not limited to Project Based Learning, design thinking, performance-based assessment; Create and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and other teachers; Differentiate effectively for diverse learners in the classroom; Assess students learning frequently and effectively to ensure grade level standards are being met; Create engaging lesson and unit plans under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School and other educational leaders at the school; Document student learning and report home frequently on student assessments and progress; Utilize multi-modal methods of instruction and learning; Assist the administration in creating a respectful school environment; Provide appropriate and engaging individualized work for students; Collaborate with grade level peers; Recognize parents as critical partners; Use technology appropriately; Attend all staff meetings and fulfill other duties; Receive and provide feedback in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will: Have 5+ years of classroom experience as a lead classroom teacher; Bachelor’s degree minimum (advanced degree preferred); California Teaching Credential preferred; Familiarity with progressive educational approaches (Project Based Learning, student-centered classroom, flipped classroom, etc.); Experience with Google Classroom, G Suite, and other LMS; Experience in lesson planning and curriculum design; Love of learning and passion for engaging students; Experience differentiating for diverse learners; Collaborative team member; First aid/CPR a plus; Independent school experience a plus. Compensation and Benefits: Salary range $85,000–$110,000 depending on experience and credentials; Additional benefit stipend; Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, 403b, and EAP; Significant tuition remission for employee children enrolled at Wornick.
