The Talent Manager will support the Vice President of Operations in leading our people strategy by building and nurturing the team at Project Shema.

This role is responsible for supporting the continuing evolution of efforts around the recruitment, onboarding, development, engagement, and retention of staff. This will include shaping equitable and inclusive talent practices, leading the development and rollout of people related metrics, and fostering a progressive workplace culture that reflects our organizational values.

Compensation: $90,000; $12,000 Health reimbursement fund (HRA); Lifestyle Spending Account; 401(k); flexible work structure; generous PTO policy

Job Scope

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment (20%)

  • Lead the end-to-end hiring process for all roles
  • Partner with hiring leaders to identify hiring needs and develop hiring plans and timelines
  • Write initial drafts of job descriptions, coordinate with hiring managers to adjust, and manage placement on appropriate career platforms
  • Coordinate candidate communications, interview logistics, feedback, and references
  • Work with leadership to ensure hiring practices remain equitable and values-aligned with our organization
  • Develop a consistent, effective, onboarding experience for all new hires

People Operations and Compliance (40%)

  • Owns and manages the employee contract process, including drafting, distribution, tracking, and ensuring timely completion for all staff
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to support benefits awareness and enrollment for new and existing staff
  • Owns and manages HR-related partnerships, including relationships with PEOs and other external providers
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to develop a performance management process that will encourage, empower, and develop the team through measurable goals and accountability structures
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and support HR compliance
  • Develop succession plans for key leadership roles
  • Run background checks and check candidate references
  • Support policy updates and maintain the Employee Handbook
  • Own communication of internal policies and processes related to HR/Benefits
  • Build a time-off tracking system

Workplace Culture (40%)

  • Partner with the VP of Operations to develop strategies to support building a progressive workplace culture
  • Lead the rollout of people metrics such as employee retention and satisfaction, and partner with leadership to action results
  • Support the VP of Operations with the planning and execution of 2 full team staff retreats per year
  • Continue efforts made to implement a feedback rich culture by coordinating feedback sessions with staff
