The PJ Library in New York Events Coordinator will help to a) expand and deepen PJ Library’s impact on children and families across New York City, Westchester, and Long Island, and b) grow and steward PJ Library’s supporter base in New York.

With our close-knit team, the Coordinator will conceptualize and execute events supporting three critical initiatives: broad-based family engagement in secular and/or cultural spaces; engagement of grandparents as ambassadors for PJ Library; key donor and stakeholder engagement. Essential to building and sustaining stakeholder relationships, the Events Coordinator will ensure that the gatherings and experiences PJ Library hosts and sponsors in New York are high quality, financially sound, and utilize best practices in engagement and event management.

The role will also ensure strategic partnerships and specific individual external stakeholder relationships are tracked, stewarded, and maximized to meet organizational goals. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director PJ Library in New York and based in PJ Library’s New York office in midtown Manhattan with the ability to work remotely 2 days/ week.

Responsibilities:

· Project manage events, handling communication, logistics, speaker management, and technical support

· Lead event execution, provide operational and/or technical leadership during in-person and virtual events

· Source and develop event concepts, working with teammates across the broader PJ Library team

· Work directly with key partners (partner organizations, individual external stakeholders) to develop and execute excellent events while deepening those relationships

· Additional duties as needs evolve

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of relevant education, certification, training, and experience

· Superlative organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail

· Outstanding written and verbal communications skills

· Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently

· Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once

· Creative thinking and problem-solving skills

· Calm under pressure in the fast-paced environment of events

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom (experience required)

· Knowledge of web and social media technologies

· Knowledge of Jewish community and Jewish communal organizations (preferred)

Experience:

· At least four years of experience in event planning or a related field

· Track record of building strong and productive stakeholder relationships

· Experience managing projects with many details and moving parts a plus

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during in-person events

· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times

· Ability to travel across New York City, Westchester, and Long Island

· Ability to staff evening and weekend events
