On-Site Supervisor
Part-time position to begin week of August 25 (exact date TBD)
Perelman Jewish Day School, a Pre-Kindergarten to 5th independent school in the Philadelphia area, is seeking a motivated team player to join our community as the On-Site Supervisor of the After School Program for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
Perelman’s After School Program provides a safe and nurturing environment for students to unwind, socialize, and engage in supervised activities after regular school hours. We offer homework assistance, games, arts and crafts, and other age-appropriate activities to keep students engaged and entertained until pickup time.
The On-Site Supervisor will work with the Coordinator of After School Programs to facilitate choice activities for students in the general late care division of the program. The On-Site Supervisor will oversee movement of students between the various enrichment activities, dismissal to parents and buses, and will support all aspects of the program. The On-Site Supervisor will actively monitor students and staff, and work with the Coordinator of After School Programs to address issues as they arise.
The ideal candidate for this role enjoys engaging with children in an informal setting and facilitating a range of activities from homework support to recess activities to art projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement after school program activities, including but not limited to homework support, outdoor and indoor recess activities, and support choice activities ranging from games to arts and crafts
- Model positive engagement and effective management to maintain the safety and well-being of all students
- Ability to manage attendance tasks using technology
- Supervise groups of students with attention to behavior and group management
- Perform daily tasks such as taking out and cleaning up materials, ensuring rooms are left tidy, and taking inventory of supplies
- Document incidents and observations
- Coordinate student movement between activities, as well as dismissal to bus and parents
- Meet regularly with the Coordinator of After School Programs regarding student management and programmatic needs
- Communicate effectively with varied audiences including children, parents, staff, and faculty
- Administer emergency medications, such as epi-pens and inhalers, and activate emergency protocol as needed
Job Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education or a related field, or currently enrolled in a degree program
- At least 2 years experience working with children
- Have a strong knowledge of developmental needs of young children and appropriate behavior strategies that meet those needs
- Ability to manage attendance tasks using technology
- Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
- High-energy and enthusiastic about working in the Jewish day school atmosphere
- First-aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification

Compensation for this position is $28 per hour.
This is a 10-month, in person position. The On-Site Supervisor will be expected to work from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday - Thursday, and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Fridays in the Winter Months and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm pm on Fridays in the spring months.
