Description
OpenDor Media is looking for a Podcast Social Producer to help extend the reach and impact of Unpacked’s podcasts by translating long-form audio and video content into engaging, platform-native social content. Unpacked creates thoughtful, accessible storytelling around Jewish life, history, and current events, and this role plays a key part in bringing those stories to audiences where they already are—on social platforms.
In this role, you will create a social media strategy for our sizeable and growing podcast department, and work in partnership with each podcast's producer to build and implement this strategy. You’ll identify standout moments from podcasts and other long-form content, edit and package them into short-form videos, and write hooks and captions that reflect Unpacked’s distinct voice. You’ll own the planning, publishing, and performance tracking of podcast-driven social content across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, using experimentation and data to continuously improve reach and engagement.
This position reports to the Head of Podcasts and works closely with podcast, marketing, and paid media teams to support launches, campaigns, and ongoing growth. This is a remote position.
What You’ll Do:
Podcast & Long-Form to Social Media
- Design and execute the strategy for the podcast → social pipeline.
- Own day-to-day creative and operational execution for Unpacked’s podcast channels across Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube (and other relevant platforms).
- Edit, or supervise editing, short-form clips from podcasts, YouTube, and other long-form content-selecting moments with strong platform fit and audience resonance.
- Develop platform-native creative concepts and storytelling formats for Reels, TikToks, and Shorts.
- Write compelling captions, hooks, and scripts that reflect Unpacked’s distinct voice and editorial standards.
- Partner with the podcast team to promote new releases and surface standout moments across social.
- Manage scheduling and publishing of content across assigned channels using Sprout Social and Google Docs.
Performance & Growth
- Set goals for assigned channels and own performance tracking, reporting, and learnings.
- Run ongoing experiments (formats, pacing, packaging, posting strategy) and iterate baked on performance insights.
Collaboration & Alignment
- Coordinate across podcast, marketing, and social teams to align messaging, timing, and priorities.
- Stay current on platform trends and best practices to keep content fresh and competitive.
Marketing & Paid Amplification
- Plan and execute social campaigns with Marketing (launches, partnerships, event promotion).
- Create and repurpose assets that support marketing priorities and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with the Paid Media Lead to identify content to boost and share results and insights back to the team.
