Our warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere enriches and enhances the Jewish experience.

 

Today, Ohr Shalom is a reflection of the combined heritage of our antecedent congregations: Beth Tefillah’s deep San Diego roots, the multicultural flavor of Adat Ami (many of whose members arrived in San Diego from Mexico and throughout Latin America), and a diverse population of San Diegans who were searching for a congregational home. Ohr Shalom is led by our inspiring and talented Rabbi, Scott Meltzer, who encourages participation by all members of the congregation; men, women and children. He encourages adults and children to join him on the bimah, take part in discussions and share their individual talents for the benefit of our entire congregation. The active participation of so many members is at the heart of what makes Ohr Shalom special.

 

Ohr Shalom’s environment helps congregants find connection and form lasting friendships. As a congregation, and as individuals, we teach the values of community involvement and enrichment. Together as a community, we support the State of Israel as the center of the Jewish people. Join us any Friday night or Saturday morning to experience the warmth of our traditional Conservative Jewish service. Anyone is welcome to become part of the Ohr Shalom community.
