Description
Congregation Kol Ami – a Reform synagogue in Cherry Hill – is looking for a B’nai Mitzvah Tutor to help our 6th and 7th Grade students prepare the prayers, Torah portion, and Haftarah portion that they will lead from the bimah on the Shabbat of their B’nai Mitzvah. The role involves bi-monthly sessions, progress tracking, and in-person meetings. Responsible for turning in monthly time.
A B’nai Mitzvah Tutor works with 10–15 students at a time. Students meet with their tutors every other week for thirty-minute sessions.
Tutors are expected to keep updated info on each student’s progress in a Google Doc for regular review by the Cantor, the Tutor’s immediate supervisor.
The Tutor is expected to meet with students on site at Congregation Kol Ami during the synagogue's normal open hours, predominantly Monday through Thursday after school, with some Sunday morning availability as well. Tutors work with the families to design and coordinate their own schedule.
This position runs year round.
Please send a resume to Debbie Jeffreys: [email hidden].
