Operations & Development Manager
Bikirbecha Inc. | Part time, 15–20 hrs/week | $20–35/hour, based on experience | Remote, with in-person presence at events (NY/NJ)
About Bikirbecha
Bikirbecha is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit improving mental health and wellbeing for LGBTQ individuals from and in Orthodox Jewish communities. We run a vetted therapist referral directory, educational training and support for clinicians working with LGBTQ clients, and community events.
The Role
Having recently obtained 501(c)(3) status, we're looking for a part-time Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of a young organization: running events, submitting grants, maintaining records, and tracking loose ends to closure. This role suits someone who can take a loosely defined goal and figure out how to make it happen. You'll report to the Executive Director and work alongside the Clinical Director and the Director of Education and Training.
Key Responsibilities
Programs and events
- Coordinate logistics for support groups, community events, and the annual retreat
- Attend and help run key events in person, manage post-event follow-up with attendees and partners
Fundraising and grants
- Research grant opportunities, track deadlines, and draft applications
- Maintain the donor database and send acknowledgment letters
Directory operations
- Manage therapist applications and onboarding from intake through listing
- Keep profiles current and follow up on outstanding items
Communications and outreach
- Conduct warm outreach to schools, clinics, and partner organizations
- Draft and distribute newsletters, event announcements, and local press outreach
- Manage day-to-day social media
Administration
- Schedule leadership meetings, circulate materials, and track action items
- Maintain organized records in Google Workspace
Who You Are
- A self-directed starter — you see what needs doing and follow through without being chased, stay organized across several roles at once, write plainly and warmly, and are confident enough to call a school administrator or clinic director and represent us well.
- Fluent in Google Workspace and quick to learn new tools (we use Todoist, Canva, Claude/ChatGPT, and a custom directory platform)
- Familiarity with Orthodox Jewish communities strongly preferred
- Committed to the wellbeing of LGBTQ people from religious communities
Details
Reports to the Executive Director. 15–20 hours/week, flexible with some fixed meetings. $20–35/hour depending on experience, as an independent contractor. This role has the possibility of transitioning into a full time role.
