B'Yachad Collaborative Religious School Part-Time Teachers Wanted

B'Yachad Collaborative Religious School, a dynamic inclusive, progressive Jewish Community comprising B'nai Sholom (Reform) and Congregation Ohav Shalom (Conservative Egalitarian), seeks Part-Time Educators for their 2026/2027 K-7 Education Program. B’Yachad’s mission is for students to experience Judaism with their whole bodies, not only their minds, through rich, fun programming and hands-on learning. Teachers ignite students' passion about Judaism, help students develop proficiency in Hebrew decoding and prayer mastery, and nurture students’ spiritual lives. We foster a warm and supportive learning community where students and teachers alike are encouraged to build relationships within our education team and with the larger community. Classes are located in Congregation Ohav Shalom’s education wing with occasional programming at nearby B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation in Albany, NY.

When: September 16, 2026- May 2, 2027

  • Sundays 2nd-5th grades 9:00am-12:00pm AND/OR

  • Wednesdays 2nd-3rd grades 4:30-6:00pm

Qualifications:

  • A love of working with children and passion for Judaism

  • Educational experience, either in a formal or informal setting

  • Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers and staff members

  • Ability to discuss Jewish traditions, holidays and Tefillah

  • Ability to read and write basic Hebrew

  • Creative, confident and enthusiastic

Salary Range: $25-$35 per teaching hour, based on qualifications, experience and teaching schedule, paid as a biweekly salary. Teachers are expected to prepare for class, communicate with the Director, and perform other duties as part of their salaried position.
