Congregation Tikvat Jacob Beth Torah (CTJ) is seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join our exceptional TK-7 Sunday Jewish Education Program, the Ohren Education Center (OEC), which serves 225 students. At OEC, we emphasize experiential learning through hands-on, project-based curricula and electives (chugim) related to Jewish cultural experiences, family education, and high-energy, all-school learning moments.

CTJ is an inclusive, egalitarian Jewish community dedicated to nurturing Jewish values and traditions within a diverse, evolving framework that draws from both Conservative and Reform movements. We are fortunate to be situated in a stunning location, just over a mile from the beach. Our vibrant community of students and families is diverse, supportive, and eager to learn, and we look forward to welcoming talented educators to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate, curriculum related to Jewish culture, history, and values.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating Jewish values and ethical behavior in interactions with others.
  • Ensure that facilities, materials, and supplies are treated with care and respect.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administration to improve curricular content, execute special programs, events, and activities.
  • Assist in school-wide activities and events, as needed, and contribute to the overall school spirit and camaraderie.
  • Address any behavioral or social issues among students, following OEC guidelines and consulting with the Director of Education as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Education regarding student progress, achievements, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve and enrich OEC's Jewish educational offerings and experiences for our students.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (higher education degrees preferred)
  • Experience working with children
  • Prior teaching experience strongly preferred


Position Details:

  • Part-time: August 23, 2025- June 6, 2026
  • Teaching Schedule: Sundays 9am - 12pm
  • Salary: $40 - $65 per hour, commensurate with training and experience
  • Job Location: Congregation Tikvat Jacob, Manhattan Beach, CA. Additional travel compensation is available.
