Executive Director of the Tampa JCC's
Posted on Oct 13, 2026
Position Summary
The Tampa Jewish Community Centers and Federation seeks an Executive Director of its JCCs who will grow membership and programs, be an excellent supervisor and fundraiser, and be one of the key public faces of the organization, focusing on the operations and effectiveness of the Shanna and Bryan Glazer JCC and JCC North Campus. Prior JCC or other Jewish communal experience is strongly preferred. As a result of the Tampa JCCs being part of an integrated JCC-Federation, some of the typical JCC administrative functions will be managed by other departments; however, the successful candidate will have significant input into the goals and operations of the entire organization.
The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for overseeing a broad array of fitness, recreational, educational, cultural and social programs. The ED will also play a lead role in maximizing membership recruitment, all program fees and other revenues for the JCCs. These include a lead role in charitable fundraising among individuals, families, corporate entities and grant procurement from foundations and all levels of government. In addition, the Tampa JCCs ED will strive to secure as many corporate sponsorships as possible for JCC programs.
About the Tampa JCCs
The Tampa Jewish Community Centers and Federation is where the Tampa Jewish community goes for programs and services for all ages. Located in two facilities in addition to a preschool in a South Tampa synagogue, the Tampa JCCs’ mission is to support and enrich the continuity of Jewish life and values in the community, in Israel and worldwide. The Tampa JCCs embrace the following values and guiding principles: • Tzedakah and caring for Jewish causes • Commitment to the survival of world Jewry • Love for Jewish culture, traditions and learning • Communication that is truthful and open • Respect for others.
The 83,500 square feet of previously vacant space in the historic Fort Homer Hesterly Armory was developed into the transformative Shanna and Bryan Glazer JCC. Its approximately 120,000 square feet of community space is an extraordinary gathering place, providing a wide range of programs and services for people of all ages, including recreation, fitness, education and culture, designed to engage individuals and families and help to meet the needs of a diverse community. The location is in a desirable and highly visible gateway to downtown Tampa and all West and South Tampa areas.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
• Supervision — Develop and lead a staff that works on JCC programs, preschool, aftercare/camp and membership to ensure that they provide the appropriate training and development to their respective teams, while promoting a respectful and positive work environment. The ED will also manage the relationship with the external vendor (EXOS) that provides fitness and recreation programs and plays a lead role in recruiting and retaining members. In addition, depending on the successful candidate’s skillset and experience, the ED may eventually be assigned to oversee other departments.
• Donor Relations — Be an active leader in the solicitation and stewardship process. Maintain existing relationships and identify new donors and endowments, applying state-of-the-art fundraising strategies, including securing individual and family gifts, corporate sponsorships and government and foundation grants.
• Community Relations — Represent the Tampa JCCs locally, statewide and nationally within the JCC network, as well as to other relevant Jewish and secular organizations and to the interfaith and non-Jewish communities.
• Governance & Board of Directors — Attend monthly board meetings and prepare JCC board reports highlighting any high-level administrative challenges and/or programmatic accomplishments or issues so that the board is kept engaged and informed.
• Fiscal Oversight — Maintain a balanced budget, meeting or exceeding stated goals and targets.
• Risk Management — Work with others to oversee and ensure the security and safety of the JCCs.
• Strategic Planning — Develop and execute plans to grow the JCCs’ membership, programs, funding, and facilities.
