Position Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, member relations, and the strategic implementation of WRJC’s mission. In close partnership with the Rabbi, President and Board of Directors, the Executive Director ensures the effective functioning of the WRJC while nurturing a warm, inclusive, and vibrant Jewish community in the Wood River Valley.

This role is highly hands-on and multifaceted, requiring strong organizational leadership, emotional intelligence, and the ability to adapt to the rhythms of a seasonal mountain-town congregation The nature of synagogue life in a seasonal resort town requires flexibility, adaptability, and frequent high-visibility engagement, particularly during peak times (e.g., summer, High Holidays, ski season). The Executive Director and the Rabbi are the WRJC’s two full-time professionals, supported by part-time employees, third party contractors, as well as lay leaders and volunteers.
