NA’AMAT USA is a national nonprofit organization providing support for services to underserved and at-risk Israeli women and children of all backgrounds.

We are seeking an organized, creative, team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills to serve as the NA’AMAT Development Assistant. The Development Assistant reports directly to the National Executive Director and will work with staff and volunteer leadership to assist with NA’AMAT USA’s development and communications plan and support the organization with essential administrative and programming tasks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Development and Program Support:

  • Manage and maintain accuracy of donor database, identifying, troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date donor information.
  • Manage acknowledgments of donations received including composing and sending acknowledgment letters and tributes and posting gifts to the database.
  • Draft, produce, and coordinate direct mail/email solicitations.
  • Conduct ongoing prospect research in coordination with Board and Staff.
  • Brainstorm ideas to expand our outreach and brand recognition.
  • Track and provide guidance for donor recognition in online materials, publications, and at events.

General Office Duties

  • Represent NA’AMAT in a professional and knowledgeable way as the first line of contact to members, donors, and other interested parties.
  • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries and be a knowledgeable resource for board members, donors, members, and staff on the programs and activities.
  • Update and maintain office and Organization materials and resources such as shared digital files, Board and staff bios, contact information, and marketing and media materials.
  • Ensure that organization “swag” and supplies are kept current, relevant, and replenished and provided to staff around the country as needed.
  • The candidate will also take the initiative to identify opportunities to increase the Executive Director’s and the Organization’s efficiency and impact.

Qualifications and Skills: what you bring to the position

  • Bachelor's degree required and 3+ years work experience or 7+ years work experience in nonprofits
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently, and be detail oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, diplomatic, friendly, resourceful, and flexible.
  • Knowledge of and experience with donor database systems, communications, and mass email platforms. Constant Contact and DonorPerfect experience a plus.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Excellent written communication skills – ability to edit a variety of materials with high attention to detail. Edits work for spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and eye-catching formatting.
  • Knowledge of design applications. Experience with Canva a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan according to short, medium and long-term objectives and assignments, and manage competing demands.
  • Follows instructions, responds agreeably to management direction, completes tasks on time.
  • Knows how to treat others with diplomacy and tact, and stay calm under pressure.
  • Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information, research and collect data, and use intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Eagerness to learn more about all aspects of donor cultivation and stewardship.
