The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust seeks an experienced and organized marketing professional to oversee project execution and provide direct oversight of the Marketing team. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing and Communications, the Associate Director of Marketing manages a four-person team and external consultants to grow the Museum’s brand and deepen its connection with audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the SVP of Marketing and Communications on the development and execution of overarching strategies to promote exhibitions and programs and to meet institutional goals
  • Execute marketing plans consistently across all platforms, including website, social media, video, print, out of home, e-mail, and direct mail
  • Lead the digital team to strengthen the Museum’s online presence and engagement
  • Oversee the development of advertising messaging, creative, and other marketing assets that adhere to brand standards and meet the strategic goals of each campaign
  • Implement short and long-range media plans in response to program priorities
  • Create, edit, and proofread marketing materials, ensuring consistency and alignment with the Museum’s messaging
  • Liaise with internal teams, including curators, educators, fundraisers, to coordinate marketing efforts that align with the Museum’s objectives and goals, including launching sponsorships, creating collateral, and providing reports as needed
  • Steward the Museum’s brand, including visual and voice standards, across the organization, including ensuring consistent, appealing, and relevant onsite messaging
  • Supervise, train, and mentor the marketing and communications team

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a marketing management role with progressively increased responsibility; museum, Jewish, or cultural organization, nonprofit, or agency experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience with the ability to operationalize strategies, motivate direct reports
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing plans.
  • Knowledge of multi-channel and behavioral marketing
  • Deep understanding of cultural audiences
  • Experience in stewarding strategy with designers through creative development
  • Creative problem-solver with superior project management skills, including sound judgment in prioritization and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Solid grasp of branding fundamentals and ability to manage messaging consistency to targeted constituencies
  • Fluency with Office 360 and experience with website CMS systems (Raisers Edge or Altru preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with Google Analytics and social media management systems and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, including presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and Sundays

Position Details

  • Reports to: Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications
  • Manages: a team of 4 including 2 direct reports as well as consultants
  • Full-time, 40 hours weekly with a hybrid schedule option after 90-days
  • Annual compensation range: $90,000 –$105,000with generous benefits
