Family Enrichment Center Director
Status: Full-Time, In-person, Exempt
Reports to: Director of Support Services Department
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm; occasional evenings and weekends, flexibility required
Annual Salary: $75,000 – $80,000, commensurate with education and experience

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents to a degree not otherwise possible. Each year, we serve more than 40,000 preschoolers, school-aged children, teens, adults, and senior citizens through our support, enrichment, education, and recreation programs, expanding their opportunities to live full, productive lives.

Position Summary:
MMCC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Family Enrichment Center (FEC). This dynamic leader will be responsible for building key partnerships, advocating for the FEC’s mission, and ensuring the effective implementation of community-driven programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community organizing, public relations, and leadership, with a commitment to fostering collaboration and amplifying the voice of the community.
Responsibilities:
● Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders across multiple sectors, including community members, public officials, and public and private organizations.
● Attend and represent the FEC at public forums, including community board meetings, to communicate community needs and advocate for FEC initiatives.
● Serve as a spokesperson for the FEC, ensuring clear communication of the mission to external stakeholders.
● Ensure fidelity to the Family Enrichment Center model, with a focus on community co-design and continuous improvement.
● Oversee hiring, training, and supervision of FEC staff, ensuring they are supported and effective in their roles.
● Support and guide the Advisory Committee and community members in fulfilling leadership responsibilities.
● Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, in-kind donations, and partnerships.
● Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment and support staff professional development.
● Ensure daily operations maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
● Maintain a strong understanding of FEC Model Standards and ensure compliance across all program areas.
● Provide leadership through coaching, reflective practice, and guidance on key frameworks such as Appreciative Inquiry, Cafés, and Protective Factors.
● Work closely with staff to ensure the program meets its goals and remains responsive to community needs.
● Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● A master’s degree and five (5) years of professional experience; OR a bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience; OR a high school diploma and at least eleven (11) years of relevant experience.
● Demonstrated success in building partnerships and advocating for community needs.
● Strong communication and public speaking skills.
● Proven experience managing, training, and supervising staff.
● Experience working with Advisory Committees or community leadership groups preferred.
● Knowledge of community-driven models and co-design processes.
● Ability to leverage funding opportunities and external resources.
● Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
● Multilingual skills (Spanish, Albanian, and/or Arabic) are a plus.
