Assistant Program Director of ESOL Programs
Status: Full-Time, In-person
Reports to: Program Director of ESOL Programs
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
Annual Salary: $50,000 – $55,000, commensurate with education and experience

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents to a degree that is not otherwise possible. Position Summary:
MMCC is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Assistant Director to support the management of two essential ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programs. This role works closely with the Program Director to enhance program effectiveness, oversee staff, ensure smooth operations, and maintain alignment with MMCC’s mission. The ideal candidate has experience supervising staff, managing adult education programs, and collaborating with diverse communities.
Responsibilities:
● Support the Program Director in planning, implementing, and managing daily operations of ESOL programs.
● Assist with recruitment, enrollment, and retention of adult learners.
● Supervise, train, and mentor program staff, ensuring adherence to MMCC policies and protocols.
● Review staff timesheets and ensure administrative documents are completed accurately.
● Track participant progress using the Participant Tracking System (PTS) and prepare reports for MMCC, DYCD, and other entities.
● Maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, and agencies to support program delivery.
● Act as a representative of MMCC in the community, promoting the ESOL programs.
● Support participants with challenges impacting language acquisition and integration.
● Assist in program evaluation, development of long-term goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, including supervisory experience.
● Experience with adult ESOL learners preferred.
● Knowledge of DYCD and Participant Tracking System (PTS) required.
● Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
● Fluency in a second language is a plus.
● Experience in program evaluation and reporting.
