Family Worker
Status: Full-Time, Union, In-Person
Reports to Education Director
Annual Salary: $37,920 to $45,681 - commensurate with education and experience.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Position Summary:
The Family Worker builds relationships with the families and maintains required family and children’s records. He/she will directly provide quality services to families by supporting them to meet family goals through workshops, trainings, referrals and serves as advocate and liaison between families and community service providers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake of family
- Collaborate with family on partnership agreements
- Complete Family Needs Assessment with families
- Collaborate with parents in setting goals and support them to those goals
- Conduct Home Visits
- Provide workshops to families
- Translate for parents when necessary
- Encourage parents to attend workshops on social service matters
- Set up preliminary 45-day screening and manage case load of 30-45 families
- Assist in scheduling and conducting shared governance activities
- Help foster family advocacy
- Assist in the classroom as needed
- Refer families to community agencies
- Escort Families to CPSE or social service agencies
- Answer phones, retrieve messages and record messages
- Place supply orders for parent activities
- Maintain files and program binders
- Maintain office equipment
- Help create program calendars for all CDC of MMCC centers
- Update and maintain Management, Education and training sections of Child Plus Net
- Attend all relevant staff meetings and training activities
- Communicate with all staff, parents, children and members of the community in a polite and respectful manner to represent the program in a professional way
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Center-Education Director/Coordinator
Requirements:
● The Family Worker must have a High School Diploma, a Family Development Credential (FDC) and five years of experience in Head Start and UPK programs
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
● An AA Degree in ECE or related field is a plus.
