Compliance Officer for Afternoon & Evening Programs

Status: Full time, In person, Exempt

Reports to: Assistant Executive Director of Compliance & HR

Annual Salary: $85,000-$90,000- commensurate with education and experience.

Work Schedule: Program operates Monday through Saturday, Days and hours will shift

accordingly but typically hours are 12-9. They will need to include 1 Saturday per

month.

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is one of the largest and most comprehensive human service organizations in the Bronx, serving more than 40,000 New Yorkers annually. Position Overview:

The Compliance Officer for Evening Programs will oversee all evening programs, including but not exclusive to Cornerstones, Beacons, and Teen programs. The coordinator makes sure programs are fully staffed, safe, and welcoming, with strong supervision and active engagement at all times. This role ensures full compliance with funder rules, Department of Health requirements, and MMCC standards. The coordinator responds to emergencies, supports staff across many sites, while maintaining clear communication with coordinators, multi & site supervisors as well as upper managers. The coordinator promotes a program culture that reflects pride, safety, respect, and the highest of quality.

Key Responsibilities

● Oversee operations of all evening programs to ensure smooth, safe, and compliant work at each site.

● Confirm that each site is staffed correctly and that staff are always using active supervising techniques.

● Monitor participant numbers to ensure programs reach expected levels of attendance and that youth are engaged in meaningful activities.

● Respond to emergencies and urgent site needs, including maintenance problems, safety concerns, criminal activity and emotional support needs.

● Ensures compliance and provides guidance and tips on all documentation, engagement, and daily safety practices.

● Offer emotional and professional support to evening staff and supervisors when challenges arise.

● Communicate decisions and updates clearly to upper managers and to staff working across the sites.

● Track staff attendance and program schedules so coverage needs can be addressed quickly.

● Understand the needs, wants, and personalities of each program so guidance can be tailored and respectful.

● Visit sites regularly to provide visibility, observe engagement, check paperwork, and strengthen staff performance.

● Ensure multi-site coordinators are present at sites and support staff in line with MMCC expectations.

● Make recommendations regarding additional funding for program needs

● Make sure physical spaces are safe, clean, and inviting and meet all Department of Health requirements.

● Help programs promote activities and events to increase participation and support community engagement.

● Maintain all required records related to attendance, incidents, compliance checks, and program activities.

● Work with directors and staff to solve problems, improve program quality, and support young people in a positive environment.

● Build strong relationships with funders, outside agencies, and community partners related to compliance and program needs and provide support for their visits.

● Collect data, prepare reports, and ensure timely submission of compliance materials.

● Model pride in MMCC standards and foster that pride among supervisors and staff.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field.

● At least five years of experience in youth program management or compliance oversight.

Must have experience and knowledge of DYCD youth service programs

● Knowledge of Cornerstones, Beacons, or similar youth and community programs.

● Strong communication and organizational skills.

● Ability to guide, train, and support staff across many locations.

● Understanding of compliance rules, safety needs, and reporting requirements.

● Ability to respond to emergencies with calm and sound judgment.

● Ability to work evenings with the possibility of some weekends.

● CPR and First Aid certification.

● A valid driver’s license.
