Job Announcement: CDL Class B Driver

Full-time, Union

Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is the largest not-for-profit provider of quality education, employment, and health and recreation programs in the impoverished neighborhoods of the North Bronx, serving the needs of more than 35,000 residents each year. Responsibilities:

• CDL Drivers are responsible for transporting clients and different types of goods to and from our centers.
• They are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip.
• Drivers also follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours.
• Delivering supplies and client transport.
• Lifting and moving lunches and materials will be required
• Managing and maintaining CDL license.
• Making sure that passengers are safely following safety guides.
• Assisting workers in loading and unloading trucks.
• Performing a pre-trip inspection daily.

Qualifications:

• Great customer service skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of roads.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good work ethics.
• Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger Endorsement
• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent education level.
• Minimum of at least one year of CDL driving experience with bus or box truck.
• School bus driving experience preferred

• High school or equivalent (Required)

• CDL driving: 1 year (Required)
• School bus driving: 1 year (Preferred)
