Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation's Capital is an independent, community Jewish day school that currently offers a dual curriculum of General and Judaic studies for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. MILTON is a warm, vibrant, pluralistic Jewish day school where students,families, and faculty mirror the diversity of Jewish practice in the community. The school serves more than 475 students at our Kay and Robert Schattner Center Campuses - the beautiful South Campus for Early Elementary students in Grades PK-1, and the newly renovated and expanded North Campus for Elementary and Middle School students in Grades 2-8.

MILTON is looking for an individual with experience managing Blackbaud’s Student Information System (SIS). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience with Blackbaud data entry, report cards, class and student registration, resource boards, and more. Staff members who have experience connecting the data within Blackbaud to other databases such as Paylocity, MagnusHealth, Ravenna, Clarity and others. While the ideal candidate will have some experience managing the backend of a Wordpress based website, otherwise qualified candidates should not let lack of website experience prevent them from applying for the role.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Ensure data integrity of the Student Information System software (Blackbaud) and support other systems
  2. Serve as the school’s registrar
  3. Manage the front and back-end elements of the school’s website

Data Management

  • Data Collection - Develop processes and techniques to allow the collection of accurate data and effective data management
  • Data Reliability - Ensure that data is entered appropriately and kept up to date in Blackbaud
  • Sharing Data - Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, parents, external stakeholders, etc.
  • Reporting - Extract pertinent data and build reports to support team members in their day-to-day duties (advanced lists, Power BI).
  • Policies and Procedures - Create and enforce policies for effective data management and ensure adherence to legal and company standards
  • Collaboration - Support others in the daily use of data systems by provide guidance and technical support
  • Updates - Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
  • Cybersecurity - Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
  • Software Catalog - Maintain internal data asset library
  • APIs - Maintain BB API’s to assure data flow

Registrar Duties

  • Course Offering - Maintaining course offerings in the Student Information System (Blackbaud)
  • Scheduling - Scheduling courses and registering students in courses
  • Class Placement - Adjusting enrollments (rosters) as students change sections or courses throughout the year
  • Records - Maintaining students’ grade records (report cards and course overviews in BB and archive)
  • Report Cards - Supporting Principals on the creation of report cards
  • Transcripts - Creating transcripts as requested
  • PTC - Managing Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduling (Pick-a-Time)
  • Distribution Lists - Ensuring that class and board distribution lists are kept up-to-date (Kesem)

Website Management - In addition to the duties above, the ideal candidate will have the skillset to do the following. Otherwise qualified candidates lacking the skill set to manage the website should not let that prevent them from applying.

  • Tech Updates - Determining how to keep the website up to date and competitive
  • SEO - Ensuring that the website is equipped for SEO
  • Google Analytics - Managing and interpreting user data related to visits, SEO, and other data related to web traffic

Content Updates - Updating website content related to leadership, board, and contact information

$65,000-$85,000
