Key Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate all sessions for core teen programs, including Teens As Leaders and Building Future Leaders.
- Design and execute dedicated Teens As Leaders and Building Future Leaders Mitzvah Days outside of the standard agency calendar.
- Expand and innovate the teen programming portfolio by planning and executing engaging events that attract and retain broader youth participation in the community.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current, ongoing, and upcoming JCC events to ensure seamless program integration.
- Manage outreach, scheduling, assignment, and on-site oversight/supervision of teen volunteers for agency-wide events and Mitzvah Days.
- Partner closely with MIY JCC staff members who are hosting events where teen volunteers are utilized.
- Assist in recruitment strategies to attract and retain teen participation across all leadership and community programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clear, professional, and consistent communication with participating teens and their parents.
- Act as the primary liaison to local BBYO chapters, supporting chapter operations, leadership development, recruitment, and programmatic integration.
- Create structured opportunities for BBYO members to engage directly with the broader JCC community and overarching agency initiatives.
- Partner closely with the Teens for Israel Program Coordinator to provide administrative, programmatic, and recruitment support.
- Coordinate academic enrichment opportunities including tutoring and test prep.
- Develop and grow teen philanthropy initiatives that empower teens to explore community needs, engage in meaningful giving, and build leadership skills through hands-on philanthropic experiences.
- Create and expand teen sports leagues, clinics, tournaments, and other recreational opportunities that engage teens of varying interests and skill levels, working collaboratively with Athletics and other JCC departments to build programs that strengthen teens' connection to the JCC.
- Support year-round Mid Island Day Camp and Second Home Daycare staff as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
- At least 2-3 years of experience working with children.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and manage time
- Must be able to work as a part of a team
- Must be able to communicate well verbally
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
