Full job description

Mid Island Y Jewish Community Center is looking for part-time Bus Drivers.

MIYJCC has been strengthening and enriching the Nassau County community through social, recreational and educational programs for the past 70 years. We are proud to help our neighbors learn, grow & thrive through programs focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

The responsibilities of the bus driver are:

• Maintain active status with 19A bus driver unit·
• Complete daily bus report
• Transport children to and from local schools
• Transport Adults from their homes to MIYJCC for Programs
• Transport Adults from their home to local shopping weekly.
• Ensure all passengers have a positive driving experience and arrive safely at their destination
• Report Immediately any unusual activity to the Transportation Coordinator
• Complete OCFS Certification program and a background check

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Part Time, 8am – 10am and 2pm – 4pm. 15 -20 hours per week

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma and related experience and skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

• CDL-Class A, B or C with P and S endorsements REQUIRED
• Previous experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Schedule: Will also include driving Campers during the Camp Season to and from Mid Island Day Camp in Wheatley Heights.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
